{"id":96,"date":"2010-12-14T19:14:58","date_gmt":"2010-12-15T03:14:58","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/vancouver2010.skirnir.com\/?p=96"},"modified":"2019-11-06T09:20:38","modified_gmt":"2019-11-06T17:20:38","slug":"theres-no-place-like-home","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/vancouver2010.skirnir.com\/?p=96","title":{"rendered":"There&#8217;s no place like home?"},"content":{"rendered":"<div>\n<div><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft\" src=\"http:\/\/l-userpic.livejournal.com\/103924839\/863405\" alt=\"Me\" width=\"82\" height=\"100\" \/><\/div>\n<p>Last night across the pond, home is a flight away.<\/p>\n<p>It&#8217;s been an incredible three months, so much growth, so much learning.<\/p>\n<p>I remember clearly a conversation I had with<strong> <strong>S <\/strong><\/strong><strong><a href=\"http:\/\/missclippin.livejournal.com\/\"><strong><\/strong><\/a><\/strong>the weekend before we left, how I wasn&#8217;t sure how the trip would go.  That I was very much a home bird. Things couldn&#8217;t be further from the  truth now. I could see myself living in Vancouver. I&#8217;ve met so many  wonderful people, connected into a community I felt very much  comfortable in. The scenery is incredible, the wildlife breathtaking. I  could call it home. The reality of it happening is questionable, but I&#8217;m  not going to stop hoping! There may be an opportunity next year for a  longer stint, if it presents itself I will most definitely be saying yes  please!<\/p>\n<p>But for now I need to head home to Edinburgh. I need to  keep the magic of these past few months alive, implement the changes I  want to make. Don&#8217;t allow myself to be dragged back into connections  that are not healthy for me.<\/p>\n<p>I&#8217;ve changed Edinburgh, my garden is no longer fenced.<\/p>\n<p>Here&#8217;s to the next adventure!<\/p><\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Last night across the pond, home is a flight away.
